Our First Trip to Dalton, Georgia

Here are a few pictures of our first trip to Georgia. Mary Ann, Kevin, Becky and Heather drove over on a Wednesday. Mama, Beth and I volunteered to come on Friday with the three kids. I don't think Beth will be having kids any time soon!!!!!! Honestly, the kids were great. It was a good trip.

Mama was driving at this point, so my job was to entertain Jacob and Mary Pinson. We were singing songs and dancing while Beth and Perrin were watching movies. Thank goodness for DVD players and car chargers. Jacob wanted the radio on and was going to scream until we turned it on. Mary Pinson was so funny dancing!!!

Perrin and Jacob on their deck Saturday morning. This is probably my favorite picture of them.

Feeding three kids on Sunday.

This was Jacob's first Popsicle. I was taking a few pictures of him, and Perrin said that she wanted to be in the picture ...

So, she told me that she needed a picture taken with Mary Pinson too. We had a great trip!

The Dancing Baby

These have to be some of the funniest videos we have ever taken of Jacob. These were shot on our trip to Destin outside of a restaurant call Poppy's in Baytowne Wharf. Jacob was not so good in the restaurant for us, so Clay took him outside while I paid the check. I walked out to Jacob entertaining two ladies waiting outside as well. Make sure you listen to the song that he is dancing to in the first video (Play that Funky Music White Boy). And don't worry ... he did not hurt himself. You will know what I mean when you get to the end of both videos.

Perrin

Perrin is growing up so fast!! I can't believe it. She is already 3 1/2 years old. I remember the day Mary Ann told us she was pregnant. She is a great big cousin to Jacob and big sister to Mary Pinson. Jacob calls her "Merrin," and he "play" talks on the telephone to her all the time. It is the funniest thing to watch him walk around the house with his head tilted over just jabbering away.

Clay's Green Thumb

Check out our pumpkins! After Halloween last year, we threw our pumpkins out at the bottom of the fence. Clay was trying to make a compost. Well, little did he know that we would have a pumpkin patch in our backyard a year later!!! We also have watermelons, but have no clue where they are coming from. Clay brought home some of his plants from school at the end of the year and planted them in the yard. We also have tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, egg plant and okra. So don't send your kids to another pumpkin patch this year. We are going to have a party and let the kids pick them this year. More details about the party will come the closer we get to "Party Time."

Mary Pinson's First Birthday Party

Mary Ann and Kevin had Mary Pinson's First Birthday Party early since they would be in Georgia on her actual birthday. (For those of you who do not know, Kevin got a new church in Dalton, GA.) They had it at Glenn and Billie's house.
"This is good. Now I know why Perrin likes cake cake so much!"

"Here Daddy. You try some."

Jacob swimming in the pool with his floaties. He swims all around by himself. He does not want you to mess with him at all. I am so glad that he is comfortable in the water.

Jacob and Tubby. Tubby is Glenn and Billie's boxer that is great with kids. Jacob decided Tubby needed a hug at the party.

Jacob's First Trip to the Beach

We went to Sandestin for a week with my job. The Mississippi Bar has its Convention at Sandestin every year. It was a lot of work, but I managed to get some family time in. We had a great time!
Jacob's first time to play in the ocean. He did not know about the sand at first, but he got much better with it.

Salt water doesn't taste good!

We bought him this spaceship to play in and to take in the ocean in case he did not like it. He is using it as a pool here. Just chillin' and eating some Cherrios.

First time in the Ocean. This did not last very long. He learned how to swim with his floatees the weekend before we left. He dove out of the spaceship because he wanted to play in the water. We did not let him play in it long because there was a lot of alge and jellyfish. He did, however, learn to swim with his mouth closed after getting salt water in his mouth.

Sitting on the beach, waiting for the fireworks to start. I was shocked, but they did not scare him at all. He loved them, as long as Clay was holding him. We all layed back on the blanket and watched them. We were really close to where they were shooting them off, so they were right over our heads. Very neat show!

Our Family after the fireworks.

This was our last day on the beach. Jacob decided he needed a nap.

Isn't he cute?!?!?

"What do you want?" Can't you see I am busy."

Blowing kisses.

On and ...
Off ... he played this game for a long, long time. It was so funny!!!

I love my baby!

Doesn't he look like he is up to something. Mandy says that he looks just like Clay in this picture.

Jacob's big boy haircut

So, this was his fifth haircut, but this one was hard on me. Joanna did a great job on him, but this was the first time she cut his hair above his ears. He looks like a little boy now. It breaks my heart that my baby is growing up so fast. These pictures were taken at Jacob's friend Will's birthday party at Pump It Up in Flowood. Of course, Jacob is going to find all the balls there even with all the other huge blow up slides and bouncey things.

"Ball!"
One of the many play things they had. This is a great place for a party. There were two big slides in the second part of the place. Jacob kept wanting to slide down them, but he could not go up the steps by himself. Guess who took him ... That is right ... me! My forearms got a workout that day! But we had a lot of fun. Happy Birthday Will!
